Investing in attorneys of the future

A core part of our culture is empowering the attorneys of tomorrow, today. As such, we regularly host vacation work and job shadowing programmes for students to gain real-life exposure to their day-to-day activities.

By investing time in future attorneys, we are playing our part in affording impactful opportunities to young people.

We recently welcomed Grade 8 learner, Courteney Tafatawona from Reddam House, Helderfontein who shadowed our Associate Siphelele Nkabinde and also spent some time with our Director Belinda Mapongwana. Courteney aspires to study Law, and we are excited to have offered her the opportunity to spend the day in the life of an attorney.

Part of their day was spent at Randburg Magistrates Court during an actual court appearance and she witnessed Siphelele argue in a civil matter. Courteney was exposed to court processes and had the rare opportunity to witness first-hand how an attorney fulfills their duties.

“I have always wanted to be an Attorney and today, I have learned a lot about what it takes to be an Attorney”. She got to see what goes into preparation before an appearance, during the appearance and after the appearance. We have no doubt that all her questions were answered and she will one day be part of this prestigious profession.

We wish Courteney the best as she continues to work towards her goals.
